5 Foods for Good Skin

By: Megan Mae

As I like to say, “Good skin starts from within!”

Having good skin isn’t ALL about a solid skin care routine. While we can’t completely stop ourselves from aging, we can make sure we eat and drink specific food and beverages that help our skin stay young, firm and supple! Read below for five types of food and drink that do just that.

Avocado: Guac for good skin? We’re in. Avocados are packed with monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids that act as a natural moisturizer for our skin.

Tomatoes: The perfect addition to any sandwich or salad, tomatoes contain an antioxidant called lycopene—which helps smooth out wrinkles.

Water: Skin needs moisture to stay supple! When we’re dehydrated, our skin looks dry, tired and even a little off-color. Drinking six to eight glasses of water a day will hydrate both our body and skin.

Oranges: Did you know that Vitamin C is a super antioxidant? It fights wrinkles, supports our immune system, facilitates the natural production of collagen, promotes radiant skin and heals blemishes.

Almonds: This easy, go-to snack is a great source of Vitamin E, which protects skin from cell damage and supports healthy skin regeneration. Eat them on their own, or have a little fun with it and add them to a homemade trail mix! Either way, our skin benefits.

To your health!
